Hypoactive children with autsm show their behaviors which are lack of hard motor skill, such as difficulties in jumping, taking the steps, walking, and moving their hands. Their movement is also very slow. They also need to improve their response for the given stimuli. The hypoactive children with autism tend to keep silent and be passive. The teachers are expected to be creative in order to make the hypoactive children with autism be able to do the hard motor skill movement in their activities. Therefore, the rhythmic gymnastics is used to be the alternetive way in improving hard motor skill of hypoactive children with autism.
This research aims to analyze the hard motor skill of hypoactive children with autism through rhythmic gymnastics as the intervetion.
The research is a single subject research by using A-B design. The data collecting techniques are observation and documentation. The collected data is analyzed by using simple descriptive statistics by using visual analysis components in the condition and intra condition.
The research is conducted in 10 sessions by using documentation and participatory observation as the data collecting techniques. Based on the research, the range of baseline phase data is 3-2 times with 40% stable tendency which means variable. Meanwhile, the intevention phase is 2-0 times with 80% stable tendency which means stable. The overlap percentage data shows 20%, it shows that the intervention affects the target behavior. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an improvementof hard motor skill of hypoactive children with autism through rhythmic gymnastics at Mutiara Hati School for children with special needs sidoarjo.
