Keefektifan Model Direct Instruction dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Vokasional Membatik Jumputan bagi Peserta Didik Tunagrahita Ringan

Abstract

Keterampilan vokasional memiliki peranan penting dalam mengembangkan potensi dan kemandirian bagi peserta didik tunagrahita ringan. Keterampilan vokasional berfungsi meningkatkan keterampilan dan kompetensi bekerja pada peserta didik di masa depan, oleh karena itu, diperlukan dukungan untuk hal tersebut, dalam penelitian ini melalui model direct instruction. Model direct instruction bermanfaat dalam merangsang peserta didik untuk belajar dengan pola langkah demi langkah, sehingga peserta didik lebih fokus pada pembelajaran yang prosedural. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan keefektifan penerapan model direct instruction terhadap keterampilan vokasional membatik jumputan bagi peserta didik tunagrahita ringan. Pendekatan penelitian termasuk kuantitatif dengan jenis pre-eksperimental, one group pre-test post-test design dengan menggunakan subjek 8 peserta didik tunagrahita ringan di SLB Harmoni. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes lisan dan tes unjuk kerja dengan teknik analisis data melalui uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,012 < 0,05 dengan nilai kritis 5% (0,05) sehingga H0 ditolak. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model direct instruction berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan keterampilan vokasional membatik jumputan bagi peserta didik tunagrahita ringan di SLB Harmoni. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu model direct instruction berpengaruh terhadap keefektifan keterampilan bekerja peserta didik dalam menerapkan langkah kegiatan membatik secara mandiri, bermanfaat agar proses pembelajaran membuat batik lebih menarik perhatian peserta didik, motivasi belajar meningkat, bekal meraih kesuksesan, serta sebagai referensi terkait model pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional yang dapat diberikan kepada peserta didik tunagrahita ringan.

Vocational skills had an important role in enhancing potential and autonomous for students with mild intellectual disabilities. Vocational skills function to enhancing the skills and competencies of working in students in the future. Therefore, support is needed for this, in this research through the Direct Instruction model. The Direct Instruction model is useful in stimulating students to learn in a step-by-step pattern, so that students are more focused on procedural learning. This research had purpose to know the effectiveness of direct instruction model enhancing the vocational skill of making batik for students with mild intellectual disabilities. The research approach includes quantitative with pre-experimental type, one group design pre-test post-test using the subject of 8 students with mild intellectual disabilities at SLB Harmoni. The technique of data collection included oral test and work show with data analysis techniques through the wilcoxon test. The research results showed that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.012<0.05  with a critical value of 5% (0.05) so that H0 was refused. This finding indicated that the direct instruction  model was effective in enhancing the vocational skill of making batik jumputan for students with mild intellectual disabilities The implication of this research is that the direct instruction model has an effect on the effectiveness of students' work skills in applying batik activity steps independently, it is useful for the learning process to make batik more attractive to students, increase learning motivation, provision for success, and as a reference related to vocational skills learning models that can be given to students with mild intellectual disabilities
