PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA FIDGET TOYS (POP IT ELEKTRIK) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMUSATAN PERHATIAN ANAK AUTIS DI SLB HARMONI SIDOARJO

Kemampuan pemusatan perhatian penting bagi anak autis, agar mereka dapat memahami pembelajaran, mengingat informasi, menyelesaikan tugas dengan baik. Kemampuan pemusatan perhatian anak autis mengalami hambatan. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, perlu adanya media agar kemampuan pemusatan perhatiannya meningkat, salah satunya dengan media fidget toys (pop it elektrik). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media fidget toys (pop it elektrik) terhadap kemampuan pemusatan perhatian anak autis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen SSR (Single subject research) desain A-B-A. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi durasi dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis visual dalam kondisi dan antar kondisi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media fidget toys (pop it elektrik) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemusatan perhatian anak autis. Berdasarkan data persentase overlap dari fase baseline (A1) ke fase intervensi sebesar 37,5% dan fase intervensi ke fase baseline (A2) sebesar 0%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media fidget toys (pop it elektrik) berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemusatan perhatian anak autis. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini yaitu media pop it elektrik dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran atau terapi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemusatan perhatian anak autis. Guru dan terapi dapat menggunakannya sebagai intervensi harian guna mendukung proses belajar dan aktivitas membutuhkan konsentrasi.

Abstract

The ability to focus attention is crucial for children with autism, as it helps them understand learning materials, retain information, and complete tasks effectively. However, children with autism often face challenges in maintaining attention. Therefore there is a need for appropriate media to enhance their attention span, one of which is the use of fidget toys (electric pop it). This study aims to analyzed through visual analysis within and between conditions. The results show that the electric pop it has a positive effect on improving attention span. Overlap percentage data form the baseline phase (A1) to the intervention phase was 37,5%, and form the intervention phase to the second baseline phase (A2) was 0%. It can be concluded that the use of electric pop it fidget toys positively influences the improvement of attention span in children with autism. The implication of this research is that electric pop it media can serve as an effective learning or therapeutic strategy to support attention development. Teacher and therapists can use it as a daily intervention to support learning and other concentration-demanding activities.
