The Effect of Using Wordwall Educational Game in Vocabulary Family Member Improvement in Deaf Disability

Abstract

Abstrak

Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti berupaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bilingual bahasa Inggris pada disabilitas rungu. Sehingga peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan game edukasi wordwall untuk meningkatkan penguasaan vocabulary family member pada disabilitas rungu kelas VIII jenjang SMPLB di SLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain  penelitian  pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tulis dan dianalisis menggunakan uji parametrik setelah data terbukti berdistribusi normal berdasarkan hasil uji statistik Shapiro-Wilk. Selanjutnya dianalisis dengan uji statistik paired T-test dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil yang diperoleh menghasilkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara pretest dan posttest (t= -31.732, p<0.01). Nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan adanya pengaruh siginifikan sesudah pemberian treatment menggunakan gameedukasi wordwall. Data tersebut diinterpretasikan ada pengaruh signifikan penggunaan game edukasi wordwall terhadap peningkatan vocabulary family member pada disabilitas rungu kelas VIII di SLB-B Karya Mulia Surabaya.

Abstrack

In this study, the researcher sought to improve English bilingual skills in deaf people. So the researchers conducted a study with the aim of examining the effect of using wordwall educational games to improve the mastery of family member vocabulary in deaf disabilities class VIII at special junior high school level at special schools Karya Mulia Surabaya. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest- posttest research design. Data collection techniques were carried out by written tests and analyzed using parametric tests after the data proved to be normally distributed based on the results of the Shapiro-Wilk statistical test. The results obtained resulted in a significant difference between the pretest and posttest (t= -31.732, p<0.01). Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. These results indicate a significant effect after treatment using wordwall educational games. The data is interpreted that there is a significant effect of using wordwall educational games on increasing vocabulary family members in class VIII deaf disabilities at special schools Karya Mulia Surabaya.
