Abstrak

Kemampuan membaca permulaan penting bagi peserta didik tunagrahita sedang, untuk memudahkan mereka dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil observasi di SLB Al-Azhar menunjukkan seorang peserta didik tunagrahita sedang memiliki kemampuan membaca permulaan yang sangat minim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan metode Glenn Doman terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik tunagrahita sedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, jenis penelitian eksperimen bentuk Single Subject Research (SSR) menggunakan desain A-B. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan tes membaca pada dua fase: baseline (A) dan intervensi (B). Data di analisis menggunakan analisis data statistik deskriptif, dan disajikan dalam bentuk grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif pada kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik setelah diterapkannya metode Glenn Doman. Dapat dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Glenn Doman berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik tunagrahita sedang. Implikasi dari penelitian penerapan metode Glenn Doman berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan peserta didik tunagrahita sedang, metode ini membantu guru memberikan pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan bagi peserta didik tunagrahita sedang.

Abstract

Early reading skills are important for students with moderate intellectual disability, to facilitate them in the learning process. The results of observations at SLB Al-Azhar show that a student with moderate intellectual disability is having very minimal initial reading skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of the Glenn Doman method on the initial reading ability of moderate intellectual disability students. This research apply a quantitative approach, a type of experimental research in the form of Single Subject Research (SSR) applaying an A-B design. Data were collected through observation and reading tests in two phases: baseline (A) and intervention (B). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and presented in graphical form. The results of the study showed that there was a positive influence on students' initial reading ability after the application of the Glenn Doman method. It can be concluded that the application of the Glenn Doman method has an effect on the initial reading ability of students with moderet intellectual disability. The implications of the research on the application of the Glenn Doman method have a positive effect on the initial reading ability of moderate intellectual disability students, this method helps teachers provide interesting and fun learning for moderate intellectual disability students.
