HUBUNGAN ANTARA FENOMENA STRES DENGAN PERILAKU IMPULSIF PESERTA DIDIK AUTIS DI SMP DAN SMA WISDOM ACADEMY SURABAYA

Abstract

Mereduksi perilaku impulsif anak autis bermanfaat dalam mencegah anak autis mengalami stres. Mengelola stres bermanfaat mengurangi perilaku berulang atau stimming bagi anak autis. Anak autis memiliki hambatan dalam mengendalikan dorongan impulsifnya, sehingga anak autis menjadi frustasi, dan kritik dari orang lain menjadi pemicu stres. Jadi, guru harus berusaha menciptakan lingkungan yang terstruktur dan prediktif agar
anak autis lebih mampu mengontrol diri, sehingga anak autis tidak mudah stres. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan hubungan antara fenomena stres dan perilaku impulsif pada peserta didik SMP dan SMA autis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian korelasional dan jenis penelitian
non eksperimental (ex-post facto). Seluruh peserta didik autis jenjang SMP dan SMA berjumlah 21 siswa di Wisdom Academy menjadi subjek penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi spearman (Spearman‟s Rank Order Correlation). Hasil analisis
data menghasilkan koefisien korelasi ( ) sebesar 0,650 dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) 0,001 menunjukkan bahwa hasil korelasi yang signifikan, kuat, dan positif antara fenomena stres dan perilaku
impulsif. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu mereduksi perilaku impulsif pada anak autis bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan belajar dan konsentrasi dan mengelola stres bagi anak autis bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kualitas tidur.

Reducing impulsive behavior in autistic children is beneficial in preventing them from experiencing stress. Managing stress, in turn, helps reduce repetitive behaviors or stimming in autistic children. Autistic children have difficulties controlling their impulsive urges,  which can lead to frustration, and criticism from others
often acts as a stress trigger. Therefore, teachers should strive to create a structured and predictable environment to help autistic children better control themselves, thereby reducing their susceptibility to stress. This research aims to prove the relationship between the phenomenon of stress and impulsive behavior in
autistic junior and senior high school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design and a non-experimental (ex-post facto) research type. All 21 autistic junior and senior high school students at Wisdom Academy were the subjects of this study. Data was collected using questionnaires.
Spearman's Rank Order Correlation technique was used for data analysis. The data analysis results yielded a correlation coefficient ( ) of 0.650 with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.001, indicating a significant, strong, and positive correlation between the phenomenon of stress and impulsive behavior. The implications
of these research findings are that reducing impulsive behavior in autistic children is beneficial for improving their learning ability and concentration, and managing stress in autistic children is beneficial for improving their sleep quality.
