Abstract

Abstract
Mild mentally reterdation children had preventionin cognitive development which caused the disorder of speech ability incuding telling story ability. The disoder of telling story to mild mentally reterdation children referred to the limit of using simple sentence. One of the ways to enhance telling story ability of mild mentally reterdation children was using picture and modification picture method.
This research had purpose to prove the influence of picture and modification picture method toward telling story abillity of mild mentally reterdation children in school for special need children Aisyiyah Krian Sidoarjo.
This researche applied quantitative approach with pe-experimental, and one group pretest-posttest design. The samples were the fifth class of mild mentally reterdation children in school for special need children Aisyiyah Krian Sidoarjo, 6 people. The ata collection use test to know the abillity result before and after giving intervention. The data analysis use sign test formula.
The researchresult indicted that there was score enhancement of telling story bility, in pretest it was 49,98 becming 72,9 in posttest. Z tabel 5% to ane sides testing was 1,65. Zh value obtained was 2,05 so that null hypothesis was refused and work hypothesis was accepted. Based on the explanation above it could be concluded that there was significant influence of using picture and modification picture method toward telling story ability of the fifth class of mild mentally reterdation children in school for specialneed children Aisyiyah Krian Sidoarjo.
