PENDEKATAN KOMUNIKATIF TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENYIMAK PADA SISWA KELAS V SDLB-B

Abstract

Abstract; Deaf shildren get constraint in their language skill. The low lwvwl of their language skill causes them not to be able to communicate wll. It is proven by the lack of deaf children’s listening to pictorial story skill at fifth class of SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya. The children get difficulties in understanding the conversation with their friends or their teacher. One of the approached which can be used to maximize their listening to pictorial story skill is communicative approach. Througt communicative approach, the students are able to do the conversation with their friends directly. This approach does support the learning process.This research used quantitative approach, with pre-experimental design, and one-group pretest-postest design. The collecting of data used test to determine the listening to pictorial story skills before and after the intervention, and documentation to collect student data such as name, gender, date of birth, address, and auditory data. Data analysis by using sign test formula.The result showed that there was enhancement score of the students listening to pictorial story skill. The pretest was 41.9 becoming 84.4 in the posttest. Z table 5% in two sides testing was 1.96. Zh value obtained was 2.05.Conclusion of research “there was significant influence communicative approach toward listening to pictorial story skill to fifth class of hearing impairment students in SDLB-B Karya Mulia I Surabaya”.
