IMPLEMENTASI REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION TERHADAPKEMAMPUAN OPERASI HITUNG PENJUMLAHAN PADA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA RINGAN
Abstract
Abstract
Children mild mental retardation have problems in cognitive development, especially in the academic field
of math. Mathematics was a symbolic language that was capable of recording and communicating ideas
related to the elements and relations of quantity. By learning mathematics can develop the ability to count
the sum operation. Basically in the learning of mathematics should be taught in a more concrete form so
that the child understood mild mental retardation. One effort to improve the ability of arithmetic
operations is the sum of mild mental retardation children using realistics mathematics education. This
study aims to prove the effect of the implementation of mathematics education realistics the arithmetic sum
of the operating ability mild mental retardation in children SLB Aisyiyah Krian Sidoarjo. This study uses a
quantitative approach, with a pre-experimental design, and a one-group pretest-posttest design. Research
sample is mild mental retardation children in SLB class II Aisyiyah Krian Sidoarjo totaling 6 people.
Collecting data using a test to determine the ability of the results before and after the intervention.
Analysis of the data using the formula sign test (sign test). The results showed an increase in scores ability
to tell when the pretest was 38,66 into 64 at the time of the posttest. Z tables 5% on two-sided test is 1.96.
Zh values obtained 2.05, so the null hypothesis is rejected and the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the
above description it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the use of mathematics
education realistics arithmetic summation operation capability class II mild mental retardation children in
SLB Aisyiyah Krian Sidoarjo.
