Abstract
Abstract
This purpose of the current research is to analyze the influence of the implementation of weaving to minimize the hyperactive behavior of autistic children before and after treatment. Weaving is one of the activities which have an important role for children with autistic. From the preliminary observation conducted in the class, it can be concluded that children with autistic possess several tendencies which include difficulty to sit quietly, trouble in focusing attention, and trouble in executing instructions. Hence the implementation of weaving is expected to be able to provide experience and train the children to concentrate in the teaching and learning activity.
Furthermore, the current research implements quantitative approach in which a pre-experimental research is applied. As for the design, it uses the “One Group, Pre-test and Post-test Design.” The subjects of the research are five autistic children with hyperactivity behavioral at SLB PGRI Badas Kediri. To collect the data, researcher uses observation, rating scale, and documentation. Meanwhile, for the data analysis technique, the research uses the non-parametric statistics and sign test formula.
Based on the result of the data analysis procedure done to the data collected through observation during the teaching and learning processes of the implementation of weafing, several findings can be drawn on the effects of the implementation of weaving towards the hyperactive behavior of the children. By using the sign test formula in the non-parametric statistic, it was found that ZH = 1,80 is bigger than the critical value of 5% which was gained from the single sided test where Z table = 1,64. From the result mentioned previously, the research decides to reject the Ho and accept Ha. The conclusion of this research declares that the implementation of weaving indeed help minimizing the hyperactive behavior of autistic children at SLB PGRI Badas Kediri.Mild mentally reterdation children had preventionin cognitive development which caused the disorder of speech ability incuding telling story ability. The disoder of telling story to mild mentally reterdation children referred to the limit of using simple sentence. One of the ways to enhance telling story ability of mild mentally reterdation children was using picture and modification picture method.
