Abstract

ABSTRACT
Writing narration ability was a written language ability which told experience or event
orderly or chronology. If the disorder of writing narration to hearing impairment students was not
handled the students would get disorder when following the next lesson of writing narration.
Hearing impairment student was an individual who had less or lost of hearing ability either a part
or whole because of the malfunction of a part or whole of hearing tools.
The purpose of this research was to analyze writing narration ability of hearing impairment
students before and after giving intervention using direct learning model. The time used in this
research was 8 times meeting with 6 times intervention. The design used was one group pre test
post test design with 6 students as the subject. The data collection method was done by test and
documentation. The data analysis was statistic non parametric using sign test.
From the research result which was then analyzed using sign test formula it was obtained Z
counted 2,05 while Z table in significant 5% for one side test (Zt=1,64) while two sides test
(Zt=1,96) so that Ho was refused (1,64<2,05>1,96). Based on the explanation above it could be
concluded that there was significant influence direct learning model toward writing narration
ability of the fifth class of hearing impairment students in SLB ABC Putra Harapan Blitar.
