ROLE PLAY METHOD MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERBICARAANAK AUTIS

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to analyze the application influence of role play method to enhance the speech ability of autism children in the education and development of special need children Esya Sidoarjo. This research used Single Subject Research (SSR) design. The subjects were two autism children in the education and development of special need children Esya Sidoarjo who had speech prevention and speech disorder i.e. They like to speak without meaning. The data collection technique used was observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used was visual analysis in condition an visual analysis among condition.
Based on the children data analysis result on baseline phase, it indicated that speech ability of autism children was very less, it was indicated by decreasing line on the graphic it meant speech ability of children subject 1 was average 37,5% and subject 2 was average 50% each meeting session. After applying role play method by turning on video about animals and inviting the children to play role, the speech ability of children enhanced subject 1 was average 85% and subject 2 was average 88,8% each meeting session.
It was concluded that role play method influence positively toward speech ability of autism children in the education an development of special need children Esya Sidoarjo.
