Abstract

ABSTRACT


Education for mentally retardation children should lead to skill in enhancing the autonomy of mentally retardation shildren as the effort to realize the national education purpose. The skill, which could be applied to mind mentally retardation children, was planting vegetable activity with verticulture technique. In learning agriculture it required a learning model base environment i.e. learning model of SDL (Self-Directed Learning) so that it was suitable with the purpose hoped. The purpose of this research was to analyze the influence of learning model of SDL through planning vegetable activity with verticulture technique toward agriculture skill ability to mind mentally retardation shildren of class XI in SLB Negeri Selong.
This research used quantitative approach of pre-experiment kind with one group pre-test post-test design. The research result indicated there was enhancement of understanding ability of mind mentally retardation children toward agriculture skill by learning model of SDL through planting vegetable verticulture activity so that in could be obtained conclusion that using learning model of SDL through verticulture activity influenced toward agriculture skill ability to mild mentally retardation children of class XI in SLB Negeri Selong. Weather and school holiday factors became problem so that it required monitoring and participating of some teachers in planting vegetable activity with verticulture technique.
