UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PUISI DENGAN MENERAPKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN LANGSUNG PADA SISWA KELAS V SDN SUKOLILO 250 KECAMATAN BULAK KOTA SURABAYA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2012-2013

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam membaca puisi dengan lafal dan intonasi yang tepat serta dalam menunjukkan ekspresi atau luapan perasaan mereka pada saat membaca puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripikan penerapan model pembelajaran langsung dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca puisi siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sukolilo 250 Surabaya, mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung, dan mengemukakan kendala yang muncul dan bagaimana cara mengatasinya. Peneliti menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian siswa-siswi Kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sukolilo 250 kecamatan Bulak kota Surabaya Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan melalui 2 siklus, masing-masing siklus dibagi menjadi 2 pertemuan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian adalah berupa, lembar pengamatan dan lembar kerja siswa.  Penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas dari 69,95% pada siklus I menjadi 86,65% pada siklus II. Aktivitas guru juga mengalami peningkatan persentase yaitu sebesar 71,3% pada siklus I menjadi  83,3% pada siklus II. Di samping itu, hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan yaitu sebesar 41,05% pada siklus I menjadi 81,05% pada siklus II. Hasil penelitian tersebut  menunjukkan bahwa penerapan  model Pembelajaran Langsung pada siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sukolilo 250 Kecamatan Bulak Kota Surabaya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, terutama pada keterampilan membaca puisi.

Abstract: This study is based on the student less ability in reading a poem with appropriate intonation and pronunciation, and also the lack expression while they are reading the poem.  Therefore, it influences the result of student learning process in the class. The study aims to describe the use of direct instruction learning model in reading poem ability of the fifth grade students at Sukolilo district 250 State Elementary School in Surabaya, to define the student learning outcomes after using the model, and to reveal the encountered problems and the way to overcome the problems.  Classroom Action Research (CAR) is applied in this study through two cycles, each cycle is divided into 2 meetings. The subjects of the study were the fifth grade students and the teacher of Sukolilo district 250 State Elementary School at Bulak regency in Surabaya. For collecting the data, observation sheets and student worksheets are used as the research instruments. The results of the study show the percentage increase on student activity from 69.95% in the first cycle to 86.65% in the second cycle. The significant increase also emerges on the activities of teachers, which showed 71.3% at the first cycle to 83.3% at the second cycle. Meanwhile, the percentage of student outcomes increase from 41,05% at the first cycle up to 81,05% at the second cycle. From those results, it is concluded that the implementation of direct instruction model in increasing the fifth grade students skill of reading poem at Sukolilo district 250 State Elementary School Bulak Sukolilo Surabaya.
