Penelitian pengembangan ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan perbendaharaan kosakata bahasa inggris di kelas IV SDN Gedangan 2 melalui pembembangan media game edukasi VOCALISH. Pengembangan ini dirancang untuk menghasilkan media game edukasi VOCALISH berbasis android yang layak berdasarkan aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) oleh Borg and Gall yang memiliki 10 langkah penelitian kemudian disederhanakan menjadi 7 tahapan yakni potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, perbaikan desain, uji coba produk dan revisi produk akhir. Uji coba produk dilakukan dengan 10 peserta didik kelas IV SDN Gedangan 2. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan didapat melalui validasi materi dengan persentase sebesar 91,7% dan validasi media sebesar 85,6%. Tingkat kepraktisan media dapat diperoleh melalui hasil angket respon siswa sebesar 100%. Kemudian tingkat keefektifan media didapat persentase ketuntasan belajar sebesar 80% dan rata-rata N-Gain 0,64. Sehingga media game edukasi VOCALISH (Vocabulary of English) untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa inggris sangat layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

This research development  is designed to enrich the vocabulary of English for fourth grade students in SDN Gedangan 2 through the media development of the VOCALISH educational game. This development is designed to produce a decent android-based media VOCALISH educational game based on aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness as an alternative learning media. This study uses Research and Development (R&D) method by Borgand Gall, which has 10 research steps in which simplified into 7 stages as follows; potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design improvement, product testing and final product revision. The trial was conducted to 10 fourth grade students at SDN Gedangan 2. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it shows that the level of validity is obtained through material validation with the percentage of 91.7% and media validation of 85.6%. The level of practicality of the media can be obtained through the results of student response questionnaires of 100%. Then the level of effectiveness of the media obtained the percentage of learning completeness is 80% and the average N-Gain 0.64.  With the result that VOCALISH (Vocabulary of English) educational game media to improve English vocabulary mastery is feasible to use.
