Abstract

Discovery learning is a learning model that presents learning materials incomprehensively with the intention that students are more proactive in searching, finding, and summarizing concepts from the information or material they have received (Salmi, 2019). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Discovery learning model assisted by LKPD on the ability to think at a high level of grade 4 students in science subjects on the material of changes in the form of objects. This study uses a quantitative approach using Quasi Experiment Design can also be called Quasi research design. The data collection technique used consists of pretest and posttest assessments. The results of the hypothesis test using the independent sample t test with the help of SPSS 26 obtained a Signification value <0.05, namely 0.016 <0.05, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it is stated that variable X has an effect on variable Y. So it can be concluded that the Discovery learning model has an effect on the high-level thinking skills (hots) of students in science learning.
