Abstract

The low interest of students in learning Javanese storytelling is caused by several things such as less interesting learning, low listening skills, or boring material for students. The use of media that is rarely used by educators is one of the reasons for this obstacle. This is in line with interview and observation data that researchers have processed using Maxqda Software. Therefore, researchers developed a learning media using the ASSURE method in the form of a Big Book based on local wisdom that can be used in learning Javanese storytelling in elementary schools to increase students' interest and listening skills in listening to and understanding Javanese stories. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of the developed learning media by testing the validity, effectiveness and practicality of the developed media. The result of this study was found to be the percentage of media validity of 88% and material of 90%. Then the results of the percentage of practicality by students by 94% and educators by 96%. The results of effectiveness measured by the percentage of student questionnaires of 92% and the average percentage of increase in pretest and posttest scores with N-Gain calculations of 0.73 with high improvement criteria and the percentage of student listening skills of 92.85% with very good criteria, so that it can be stated that the media developed is in the form of Big Books based on local wisdom is suitable for use in learning Javanese storytelling in elementary schools. In this research processing, SmartPLS 4.1.0.1 software is supported to test the validity and reliability of student questionnaire instruments, so that the resulting research can be said to be valid in accordance with the data in SmartPLS processing.
