Abstract

Capital letters are an important component that must be taught in learning Indonesian. However, there are still many students who do not properly understand the rules for using capital letters. This research aims to explain the development process and validity of Card and Jenga media in learning uppercase letters through validation from media experts and material experts, as well as responses from students and teachers. This media development uses the ADDIE model by Dick and Carry, as well as a pre-experimental trial design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design combined with a one-shot case study design. The development results show that this media is valid, practical and effective. Validation from media experts reached 90% (very valid) and material experts reached 97.5% (very valid). Based on student responses, the practicality of this media reached 97.7% (very practical), while the teacher's response reached 100% (very practical). The effectiveness of this media is proven by the increase in student scores with an N-gain of 0.56 (medium) based on the pre-test and post-test. From these results, it can be concluded that the Card and Jenga media in learning uppercase letters that were developed are valid and suitable for use.
