Abstract

Counting boards are learning media that are used to support students in learning to count, both addition and subtraction using two arranged numbers. This media helps students overcome challenges in storing calculations, this is the main obstacle in adding and subtracting two-digit numbers. This research aims to identify the impact of counting board learning media on the numeracy skills of grade I elementary school students. This research applies a quantitative approach with a Non-equivalent Control Group design, which is a type of quasi-experiment. Data collection techniques involve a combination of test and questionnaire methods, using questionnaires and test instruments. Assessment is carried out through pre-test and post-test, while a questionnaire instrument collects student responses about their experiences with the counting board. The results of hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test using SPSS 25 statistical software show the value 𝑡count > 𝑡table, namely 4.854 > 1.676, so it can be concluded that 𝐻0 is rejected and 𝐻1 is accepted. Apart from that, a simple linear regression test shows a Sig value (0.000) < 0.05, which means that variable of 25 students. In conclusion, the counting board learning media has a good impact on students' numeracy skills in class I elementary school.
