TEDHAK SITEN CULTURE AS A LEARNING RESOURCE BASED ON ETHNOMATHEMATICS IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS ON THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHAPES
Abstract
Learners need math learning as one of the solutions to solve problems in everyday The abstract and logical characteristics of mathematics can train critical thinking in students. To achieve various goals of learning mathematics, there are various problems that cause the implementation of mathematics learning objectives to the fullest. Many students dislike and even feel afraid when learning math takes place. One alternative solution to overcome problems in learning mathematics at school is ethnomathematics-based learning. This study aims to determine how the learning design and students' response to the tedhak siten ethnomathematics learning activity on 5th grade students learning materials on three-dimensional shapes. This research is a mix metdhod research with a research type of Design Research. In this study there are 3 stages, namely the planning stage, the experiment stage and retrospective analysis. The implementation of learning was carried out in two cycles, namely pilot experiment and tecaher experiment at SDN Kebraon II/437 Surabaya. All learning tools are sourced from the tradition of tedhak siten, which has the concept of Three- dimensional shapes. From the learning process that has been implemented, the results show that most participants have been able to achieve learning objectives through several learning activities in accordance with the lesson plan.
