DESIGN OF RME-BASED MULTIPLICATION MATERIAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE TYPICAL CULTURE OF KEDIRI TAHU KUNING
Abstract
This research aims to design a multiplication learning activity design based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) using the typical Kediri yellow tofu culture. The research was motivated by the difficulties of elementary school students in understanding the concept of multiplication, who often only rely on rote memorization methods without strengthening understanding of basic concepts. The combination of the RME and ethnomathematics approaches allows more meaningful learning by qualifying mathematical material with daily life and local culture. This research uses a qualitative method with a design research method with the subject of 6 students at the pilot experiment stage and all class 3B students at the teaching experiment stage. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research are HLT on multiplication material using the ethnomathematics-based RME learning method through the typical Kediri yellow tofu culture for grade 3 elementary school.
