Publication Ethics Statement

Jurnal Tata Rias is a peer-reviewed open access journal that upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all reasonable steps to prevent any publication malpractice. This statement outlines the ethical standards for all parties involved in the publication process—editors, authors, reviewers, and the publisher—based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices.

1. Editorial Responsibilities

Fair and Unbiased Decisions
Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts exclusively on the basis of their academic merit (importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope), without regard to the authors’ gender, ethnicity, religion, citizenship, or institutional affiliation.

Confidentiality
The editorial team must ensure the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher.

Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which of the submitted manuscripts should be published, guided by the policies of the journal and legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

Handling Misconduct
Editors will take reasonable responsive measures when ethical complaints are presented concerning a submitted or published paper. Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be published when needed.

2. Reviewer Responsibilities

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and may assist authors in improving their manuscripts. Jurnal Tata Rias employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure objectivity.

Objectivity and Constructive Feedback
Reviewers should conduct reviews objectively, with clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.

Timeliness and Confidentiality
Reviewers should complete their reviews promptly and must treat the manuscript and associated materials as confidential documents.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must declare any competing interests and decline the review if a conflict of interest exists.

3. Author Responsibilities

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works and, if the work and/or words of others are used, that they are appropriately cited. All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening prior to peer review.

Multiple and Redundant Publications
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same research to multiple journals is unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Authors should properly acknowledge the work of others, and cite publications that have influenced their research.

Authorship of the Manuscript
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research study. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest and Funding
All authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support should be disclosed.

4. Publisher Responsibilities

Editorial Independence
The publisher respects the editorial independence of the journal's editorial board and does not interfere with the evaluation and selection process of manuscripts.

Ethical Oversight
In cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the publisher will, in close collaboration with the editors, take all appropriate measures, including correction or retraction of the article.

Open Access and Accessibility
As an open-access journal, Jurnal Tata Rias ensures that published content is freely available to the global academic community, without subscription or paywall barriers.

Jurnal Tata Rias strongly encourages all stakeholders to adhere to these ethical principles. Cases of suspected misconduct may be reported to the editorial office and will be handled following COPE’s recommended procedures.
