PENGARUH PROPORSI KULIT BUAH KOPI DAN EKSTRAK DAUN JAMBU BIJI TERHADAP HASIL LULUR TRADISIONAL

Abstract

Abstrak: Lulur badan merupakan salah satu kosmetik perawatan kulit yang berfungsi membersihkan pori-pori serta mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh proporsi kulit buah kopi dan ekstrak daun jambu biji terhadap hasil lulur tradisional meliputi sifat fisik (yaitu aroma, warna, tekstur, dan bentuk), tingkat kesukaan panelis dan masa simpan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Variabel bebas penelitian ini adalah proporsi kulit buah kopi dan ekstrak daun jambu biji yaitu X1 (3:7), X2 (4:7), dan X3 (4:6). Variabel terikatnya yaitu hasil lulur tradisional meliputi aroma, warna, tekstur, bentuk, tingkat kesukaan panelis dan masa simpan. Sedangkan variabel kontrol penelitian ini adalah bahan tapioka dengan jumlah 20 gram. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi oleh 30 panelis. Analisis data dengan menggunakan anava tunggal dan dilanjutkan uji Duncan menggunakan program SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh proporsi kulit buah kopi dan ektrak daun jambu biji terhadap hasil lulur tradisional. Meliputi 1) Semakin banyak kulit buah kopi, aroma yang dihasilkan semakin kuat, warna yang dihasilkan semakin gelap, dan tekstur yang dihasilkan semakin kasar pada lulur X3. Sampel X2 memiliki proporsi yang sesuai untuk menghasilkan bentuk agak padat. 2) Tingkat kesukaan panelis pada sampel X2 karena memiliki aroma kopi dan bentuk agak padat (krim). 3) Masa simpan ketiga sediaan produk dapat digunakan sampai hari ke 7.

Abstract: Body scrub is one of the skincare products that is commonly used. Scrub is used by scrubbing the body in order to deep clean the pores and to remove dead skin cells. This study aimed to find out the effect of coffee cherry skin and guava leaf extract’s proportion toward the herbal scrub product which involved physical properties, the panelist’s hedonic scale, and the shelf life. The study use experimental method. The independent variable was the proportion of coffee cherry skin and guava leaf extract which was X1(3:7),X2 (4:7), and X3 (4:6). The dependent variables was the finished product of the herbal scrub involved the aroma, color, texture, form, panelist’s hedonic scale and shelf life. While, the control variable of the study was the tapioca with the proportion of 20 grams. The data collection used the observation method by 30 panelists. The data analysis used one-way ANOVA and to be continued by conducting a Duncan test using the SPSS 16 program. The result of the study showed that there was an effect of the coffee cherry skin and guava leaf extract’s proportion to involved finished product of herbal scrub.1) The more coffee cherry skin were given, the stronger the coffee aroma was X3, the more colorless the substance was X3, and the rougher the texture was X3. X2 sample resulted a solid form. 2) The panelist’s hedonic scale was in the X2 sample. 3) The three products had the same good shelf life one another until the day-7.
