SOCIAL DEIXIS OF PRINCESS DIANA IN DIANA THE SECRET OF A PRINCESS MOVIE

Abstract

Abstrak Deixis sosial adalah pengkodean perbedaan sosial yang terkait dengan peran peserta. Hal ini digunakan untuk kepentingan kesantunan dalam interaksi sosial. Menurut Saeed (2001), deixis sosial dapat menunjukkan jarak sosial antara pembicara dan penerima. Analisis yang digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis dialog yang mengandung deiksis sosial yang mewakili status sosial Putri Diana di film Diana The Secret of A Princess. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah laptop, GOM Player, dan earphone untuk membantu peneliti mengumpulkan data. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ada keterkaitan hubungan dari deiksis sosial dan status sosial melalui tiga faktor, yaitu: pekerjaan, keluarga dan peringkat. Kata Kunci:Deiksis sosial, status sosial, Putri Diana dan film Diana The Secret of A Princess. Abstract Social deixis is the encoding of social distinctions that are related to the participants’ roles. It is used for the sake of politeness in social interaction. According to Saeed (2001), social deixis can show the social distance between the speaker and the addressee. The analysis used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection was done by gathering and analyzing the dialogue which contain of social deixis that represent Princess Diana’s social status in Diana The Secret of Princess movie. The instrument was the researcher who used a laptop, GOM player, and the earphone to help the researcher collecting the data. The findings showed that there were colleration of social deixis and social status through three factors, they are: occupation, family and rank.
