PROFIL BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA SMP DALAM PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA DITINJAU DARI GAYA BERPIKIR

Berpikir kreatif merupakan salah satu kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang harus dimiliki siswa. Berpikir kreatif dapat dikembangkan melalui pemecahan masalah. Tahap pemecahan masalah yang digunakan dalam mpenelitian ini yaitu tahap merencanakan masalah dan menyelesaikan masalah. Dalam berpikir kreatif dibutuhkan cara berpikir yang berbeda. Perbedaan cara berpikir tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan gaya berpikir yang dimiliki oleh masing-masing individu.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil berpikir kreatif siswa SMP dalam pemecahan masalah matematika ditinjau dari gaya berpikir. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kelas VIII-B dan VIII-C SMP Negeri 19 Surabaya. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat siswa yaitu satu siswa sekuensial konkrit, satu siswa sekuensial abstrak, satu siswa acak konkrit, dan satu siswa acak abstrak. Keempat subjek juga memiliki kemampuan matematika tinggi. Analisis data berdasarkan indikator berpikir kreatif (kefasihan, fleksibilitas, dan kebaruan) dalam tahap pemecahan masalah (merencanakan masalah dan menyelesaikan masalah).

Hasil Penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa dalam merencanakan dan menyelesaikan masalah, siswa sekuensial abstrak memenuhi semua indikator berpikir kreatif. Untuk siswa sekuensial konkrit memenuhi indikator kefasihan dan fleksibilitas. Dan untuk siswa acak konkrit memenuhi semua indikator berpikir kreatif, sedangkan untuk siswa acak abstrak tidak dapat memenuhi indikator berpikir kreatif.

Abstract

Creative thinking is one of higher-order thinking skills that is important for student. Creative thinking can be developed by using problem solving. The stage of problem solving in this research is a planning solution stage and applying solution stage. Creative thinking requires different ways of thinking to solve a problem. The different ways of thinking can be influenced by different thinking style for each student.

The research was descriptive-qulitative that the goal is describing the profile of junior high school students’ creative thinking in solving mathematical problem based of thinking style. The research is conducted in the class VIII-A and VIII-B Junior High School 19 Surabaya. Subjects in this research consist of four students, which are a concrete sequential student, an abstract sequential student, a concrete random student, and an abstract random student. All of them have a high category in mathematics ability. The data was analyzed based on indicator of creative thinking (fluency, flexibility, and novelty) in the steps of problem solving (devise a plan and carrying out the plan)

The result of this research in stage of planning solution and applying solution are, a student who has abstract sequential thinking style is doing all the indicator of creative thinking. A student who has concrete sequential thinking style is doing the criteria of creative thinking that are fluency and flexibility. A student who has thinking style concrete random thinking style is doing all the criteria of creative thinking. A student who has abstract random thinking style is not doing all the criteria of creative thinking
