Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat proses pemaknaan identitas seseorang yang tergabung dalam komunitas BigREDS dengan memakai teori interaksionisme simbolik Herbert Mead dalam mind, self, dan society serta konsep “I” dan “Me”. Dalam konsep teori ini bagaimana Kopites membentuk identitas diri mereka melalui berbagai macam simbol dan tanda agar dimengerti oleh masyarakat tentang identitas mereka. Bergabung dengan komunitas adalah inti dari pemaknaan identitas diri tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada beberapa anggota BigREDS Regional Surabaya. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara mendalam. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan setelah data-data diperoleh melalui teknik wawancara dan observasi. Kemudian data-data tersebut dianalisis secara saling berhubungan untuk mendapatkan dugaan sementara yang dipakai dasar untuk mengumpulkan data berikutnya lalu dikonfirmasikan kepada informan secara terus menerus hingga data jenuh. Para Kopites BigREDS Surabaya dilihat dari konsep teori Interaksionisme Simbolik Herbert Mead.

Abstract

This research was aim to observe the action of a person's identity meaning who joined in the BigREDS community by using the theory of symbolic interactionism Herbert Mead in mind, self, and society as well as the concept of "I" and "Me". In this theory the concept of how Kopites forming their self-identity through a variety of symbols and signs in order to be understood by the public about their identity. Join the community is the core of the meaning of identity. This study was conducted to several members of the Regional BigREDS Surabaya. Technique data collecting by observation, in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques in this study conducted after the data obtained through interviews and observation techniques. Then the data are analyzed interconnected to obtain provisional estimates which used the base to collect data and confirmed subsequent to the informant continuously until the data is saturated. The Kopites BigREDS Surabaya seen from theoretical concept Symbolic interactionism Herbert Mead.
