STRATEGI BERTAHAN HIDUP M ANTAN TKI PRIA DI PONOROGO (STUDI PADA MANTAN TKI PASCA PULANG DARI LUAR NEGERI)
Abstract
Labor issues in Indonesia are still in the spotlight in the midst of society. In fact, there are inequalities in employment. The high number of job seekers is not matched by the large number of jobs. This causes many people to choose shortcuts, such as becoming migrant workers. This phenomenon also occurs in Ponorogo Regency. When I became a migrant worker, people's lives changed little by little. Generally, TKI will leave at productive age and will be full before their productive period ends. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnometodological approach from Harold Garfinkel. This research was conducted in Ponorogo Regency. As for the subjects of the study were former male migrant workers. Data were collected using two techniques, namely primary and secondary. The results of this study indicate that the former TKI in Ponorogo experienced difficulties after returning. One of the difficulties faced by former migrant workers is the economic factor. With his status as the head of the former TKI family, he has a strategy to make ends meet and survive. In this case, there are 3 (three) strategies used by them. The strategies are: (a) Relying on the social networks it has. Former migrant workers tend to use the type of kinship social networks and social networks of friendship (b) rely on subsistence alternatives, which means that former migrant workers have other activities besides their main job (c) suppress spending within the family.
