Abstract

Abstract

The news of HTI's disbandment in 2017 circulated in almost every online media portal, including NU Online as a base for news information related to the Islamic world. HTI was asked to become a banned mass organization because its caliphate ideology was not in accordance with the ideology of the Indonesian nation, namely Pancasila. The discourse that was present in the news was then further investigated using Adrianus Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis with the aim of knowing the structure of the discourse and the meaning of the Nahdliyyin related to the news about the dissolution of HTI which was linked in Nu online. The news quoted for review is news related to the dissolution of HTI on 10 July-24 July 2017. The results of this research are examined from three structures, namely text, cognition and context. Based on the text of each news report, it produces several different structures with the same theme, namely the disbandment of HTI. Meanwhile, regarding the meaning of the context, this news has existed since the time of Abdurrahman Wahid and is believed to be true as part of knowledge by the Nahdliyyin. The power of these NU leaders makes their followers believe in the truth of these discourses and statements.
