MODAL SOSIAL PETANI TEMBAKAU SRINTIL DALAM MENINGKATKAN KESEJAHTERAAN PETANI PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19 DI DESA LEGOKSARI KECAMATAN TELOGOMULYO KABUPATEN TEMANGGUNG

Abstract

Temanggung Regency is a legend in itself for the tobacco industry in Indonesia. The reason is that
Temanggung Regency is famous for its 'srinthil' quality tobacco. The high quality of srinthil tobacco has
earned it the title of "green gold" because the price can reach millions of rupiah per kilogram. During the
Covid-19 pandemic, tobacco commodities experienced significant price changes. This significant price
change has a socio-economic impact on the people of Legoksari Village, Telogomulyo Subdistrict,
considering that tobacco commodities are the main sector of residents' livelihoods. Therefore, this study
aims to describe how social capital in improving the welfare of Shrintil tobacco farmers. The research is
qualitative research. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation.
The results obtained from the research show that with the history of the 1982 pagebluk (pandemic) told by
previous grandparents, the community feels more prepared to face the Covid-19 pandemic. By maintaining
the traditions of nyecel, nglekasi, and miwiti/among tebal thick strengthen the attitude of kinship and mutual
cooperation between farmers. In addition, the establishment of a good relationship between farmers and
stage holders is a separate capital in maintaining the welfare of farmers.
