Biduan Waria Pada Media Sosial (Analisis Wacana Model Teun A. Van Djik Akun TikTok Viki Fida dan Youtube MJ Dangdut Official)
Abstract
The transgender group, which is closely associated with bad stigma in society, is often associated
with jobs such as being a prostitute or busking. The presence of Viki Fida, which went viral in
2022, has become an interesting phenomenon because transgender people can work in
management institutions and are well known for their profession. The method used is critical
discourse analysis modeled by Teun A. Van Djik which looks at the dimensions of text, social
cognition and context observed in the two specified media, namely YouTube and Tiktok, up to the
comments column of each. Results and discussion are found in the presence of discourse. What
MJ Dangdut Official and Viki Fida are trying to present as representatives of waria singers is to
entertain with this cognition which is conveyed well, but from the waria group itself the stigma
seems to be threatened because of Viki Fida's behavior which suggests harassment and also sexist
objectification. This symbolic violence occurs and leads to the humiliation of women or
transgender women themselves, but this violence is not realized because it is wrapped in a joking
context which makes the treatment or words understandable or ignored. The social reality of
transgender singers on social media is still responded to and accepted well by the community if in
behavior and dress, they are still in the order of moral values that apply in Indonesian society.
However, discrimination is still found to arise because of the stigma that is still attached and is still
embedded in the community's own knowledge of the transgender group.
