Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawal

Jurnal Teknik Elektro (JTE) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. Therefore, all requests and decisions concerning corrections, article retractions, and manuscript withdrawals will be handled carefully, objectively, and transparently, in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and applicable publication ethics principles.

1. Correction
A correction may be issued when errors are identified in a published article, provided that such errors do not affect the validity of the findings, conclusions, or overall scientific integrity of the article.
Corrections may be considered under the following circumstances:
1. Errors are identified in the text, tables, figures, author information, affiliations, or other article metadata.
2. The errors originate from the authors, editors, or the publication process.
3. The errors do not substantially alter the main findings or conclusions of the article.
Any correction affecting the content of a published article will be issued transparently and linked to the original article. Where necessary, the original article may also be updated, with a clear indication that a correction has been made.

2. Retraction
A published article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its findings are unreliable or that serious violations of research or publication ethics have occurred.
Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
1. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data.
2. Plagiarism or substantial duplication of previously published work.
3. Serious errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions of the article.
4. Unethical research practices.
5. Use of data, materials, or other parties' work without the necessary permission.
6. Duplicate or redundant publication that violates publication ethics.
7. Serious authorship disputes or misrepresentation of authorship information.
8. Other significant violations of research and publication ethics principles.
Retraction decisions will be made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the Editorial Board following an appropriate examination and investigation of the case.
A retraction notice will be published openly and permanently linked to the original article. The notice will transparently explain the reasons for the retraction while maintaining access to the original publication record, in accordance with the principles of scholarly record integrity.

3. Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors are expected to carefully consider their decision before submitting a manuscript. Submission indicates that all authors have agreed to the submission and are willing to participate responsibly in the editorial and peer review processes.
Manuscript withdrawal may only be conducted through the official procedures established by Jurnal Teknik Elektro. The withdrawal requirements differ depending on the stage of the editorial process, as follows.
3.1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors may request manuscript withdrawal before the manuscript enters the peer review process.
Authors wishing to withdraw their manuscript must submit a completed and signed Manuscript Withdrawal Form. The form must be approved by all authors or signed by the corresponding author, who must have obtained the consent of all co-authors. The withdrawal request must also include a clear explanation of the reasons for withdrawal.
Submitting a withdrawal request does not automatically mean that the manuscript has been officially withdrawn. A manuscript will only be considered officially withdrawn after the authors receive written confirmation from the Editorial Office.
To obtain the Manuscript Withdrawal Form or further information regarding the withdrawal procedure, authors may contact the Editorial Office by email at: [email protected].
3.2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
Withdrawal of a manuscript after the peer review process has begun is strongly discouraged. This is because editors and reviewers have invested their time, effort, and professional expertise in evaluating the manuscript. Therefore, authors are expected to respect the editorial process and respond responsibly to editorial decisions and reviewer comments.
If there are legitimate and unavoidable reasons for withdrawing a manuscript during peer review, authors must submit a formal withdrawal request explaining the reasons for their decision.
The request must be accompanied by a completed and signed Manuscript Withdrawal Form and must receive official approval from the Editorial Office.
Withdrawal without justifiable reasons, withdrawal for the purpose of submitting the same manuscript to another journal while the editorial process is still ongoing, or unilateral withdrawal without official approval from the Editorial Office may be considered a violation of publication ethics.
In such cases, Jurnal Teknik Elektro reserves the right to impose a manuscript submission restriction of up to five (5) years on the authors found responsible, taking into account the severity of the violation and the findings of the investigation.
3.3. Failure to Submit a Revised Manuscript After Peer Review
Authors who receive a revision decision are expected to submit the revised manuscript together with their responses to reviewer comments (response to reviewers) within the deadline specified by the Editorial Office.
If authors encounter difficulties in completing the revisions within the specified timeframe, they must promptly contact the Editorial Office, explain the reasons, and request an extension where necessary.
Authors who deliberately abandon the revision process, fail to submit the requested revisions without reasonable explanation or communication, or submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains active in the Jurnal Teknik Elektro editorial system may be considered to have failed to comply with the journal's editorial and publication ethics requirements.
In such circumstances, Jurnal Teknik Elektro reserves the right to close or withdraw the manuscript from the editorial process. If a publication ethics violation is established, the journal may also impose a manuscript submission restriction of up to five (5) years on the responsible authors, taking into account the circumstances and severity of the violation.
3.4. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal of a manuscript after it has been officially accepted is considered a serious matter because substantial editorial, peer review, and publication production resources have already been invested.
Authors wishing to withdraw a manuscript after receiving an acceptance decision must submit a formal request stating clear and justifiable reasons. The request must be accompanied by a completed and signed Manuscript Withdrawal Form in accordance with the journal's requirements.
Approval of withdrawal requests after acceptance falls under the authority of the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Office, taking into account the authors' reasons, the stage of publication production, and the resulting editorial consequences.
Withdrawal of an accepted manuscript without valid and justifiable reasons may result in a manuscript submission restriction of up to five (5) years for the authors found responsible.
3.5. Failure to Complete Publication Requirements After Acceptance
After a manuscript has been accepted, authors are responsible for completing all administrative and publication requirements in accordance with the journal's policies and the deadlines communicated by the Editorial Office.
These requirements may include the completion of administrative documents, compliance with copyright and licensing requirements, and payment of the Article Processing Charge (APC), where applicable.
If an accepted manuscript cannot proceed to publication because the authors fail to fulfill the APC payment obligation or other mandatory publication requirements without providing a reasonable explanation or prior communication with the Editorial Office, the journal reserves the right to revoke the acceptance decision and discontinue the manuscript's publication process.
If authors repeatedly ignore official communications from the Editorial Office or deliberately abandon an accepted manuscript after the completion of the editorial and peer review processes, the journal may consider imposing a manuscript submission restriction of up to five (5) years on the responsible authors.
Any such restriction will be imposed only after considering the circumstances of the case, the explanations provided by the authors, and the relevant communication records between the authors and the Editorial Office.

4. Submission to Other Journals During the Withdrawal Process
Authors are not permitted to submit the same or substantially similar manuscript to another journal while the manuscript is still under editorial consideration by Jurnal Teknik Elektro or while a withdrawal request is being processed.
A manuscript may only be submitted to another journal after the authors have received official written confirmation from the Editorial Office that the withdrawal has been approved and the manuscript has been formally withdrawn from the Jurnal Teknik Elektro editorial system.
Submitting the same or substantially similar manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal may be considered duplicate submission or simultaneous submission, which constitutes a violation of scholarly publication ethics.
If such a violation is established, the journal reserves the right to take appropriate editorial action in accordance with the severity of the violation and applicable publication ethics policies.

5. Editorial Policy
All requests and decisions concerning corrections, article retractions, and manuscript withdrawals will be evaluated individually and objectively.
The Editor-in-Chief, together with the Editorial Board, has the authority to determine the appropriate editorial action by considering the following factors:
1. The nature and severity of the identified issue.
2. The stage of the editorial process and the publication status of the manuscript.
3. The explanations and supporting evidence provided by the authors.
4. The results of any examination or investigation conducted by the journal.
5. Applicable research and publication ethics principles.
All editorial decisions will be documented and formally communicated to the relevant parties. The journal is committed to ensuring that all correction, retraction, and withdrawal procedures are conducted fairly, transparently, and proportionately to maintain public trust in research findings and the integrity of the scholarly record.
