Abstract

This study aims to analyze the coaching habitus implemented by the Esports Indonesia (ESI) Executive Board in Mojokerto City to improve esports player performance, identify the forms of capital that play a role in the coaching process, and explain the relationship between habitus, capital, and the arena in shaping esports athlete coaching practices. The study employed a qualitative approach using James P. Spradley's ethnographic method. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of ESI administrators, coaches, and esports athletes in Mojokerto City. Data analysis was conducted through domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and cultural theme analysis. The theoretical framework used is Pierre Bourdieu's theory of practice, which encompasses the concepts of habitus, capital (economic, social, cultural, and symbolic), and the arena. The results show that the coaching conducted by ESI in Mojokerto City successfully formed a positive habitus in players through the instilling of routine practice, discipline, effective communication, self-evaluation, and a competitive mentality. This habitus is formed through ongoing interactions within the organizational arena, becoming an inherent dispositionplayer
