Plagiarism Screening
Unesa Journal of Chemistry (UJC) is committed to publishing only original work. All manuscripts submitted to UJC are checked for similarity with previously published work using the Turnitin plagiarism detection software.
Screening Process
- Similarity checking is carried out by the Editorial Office at the initial screening stage, before the manuscript is sent to reviewers, and may be repeated after revision.
- The overall similarity index of a manuscript must not exceed 25%, excluding the reference list.
- The editor also examines the similarity report in detail, as a low overall score does not rule out plagiarism of specific parts of the manuscript.
Handling of Similarity Findings
- Manuscripts with a similarity index above 25% are returned to the authors for revision before further processing, or rejected.
- Manuscripts that show clear evidence of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or duplicate publication are rejected.
- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the case is handled in accordance with the Publication Ethics and Correction and Retraction policies, and may result in the retraction of the article.
Recommendation for Authors
Authors are encouraged to check the similarity of their manuscripts and to cite all sources properly before submission.
