Pengaruh Jenis Protein Nabati dan Hewani Terhadap Tingkat Satiety Pada Wanita Dewasa Awal Sehat

Abstrak

Obesitas masih menjadi salah satu penyakit yang banyak diderita masyarakat dan menjadi permasalahan kesehatan yang berbahaya. Oleh karena itu, meningkatkan kekuatan mengenyangkan (satiety) pada makanan tertentu merupakan salah satu cara untuk menghambat nafsu makan setelah makan dan mengontrol asupan energi. Protein memiliki efek satiety paling tinggi di antara makronutrien lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat hunger, fullness, desire to eat, prospective food consumption (PFC), dan asupan energi ad-libitum meal pada wanita dewasa awal setelah diberi protein nabati dengan protein hewani. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian cross-over. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling acak dengan peserta 28 wanita dengan berat badan normal, BMI 21,6 ± 1,5 dan usia 19-21 tahun. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) untuk mengumpulkan data terkait indikator subjektif satiety, yang meliputi hunger, fullness, desire to eat, dan prospective food consumption (PFC). Indikator objektif, yaitu asupan energi makronutrien dihitung melalui konsumsi makan siang ad-libitum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada indikator hunger, fullness, desire to eat, dan prospective food consumption (PFC). Asupan energi ad-libitum meal pada kelompok protein nabati (337,9 ± 85,7) lebih rendah daripada kelompok protein hewani  (367 ± 132,7) meskipun tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p=0,48). Penelitian ini menggambarkan efek akut terhadap tingkat satiety antara protein nabati dan protein hewani dan hanya meneliti efek postprandial sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian yang menguji efek jangka panjang dari protein nabati terhadap manajemen berat badan.
