AI Use Policy

UJCED permits the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including generative AI, as an aid in the scholarly publication process, while prioritizing academic integrity, transparency, confidentiality, and human accountability.

1. Authors
   AI may be used as a tool for language editing, grammar correction, translation, and improving manuscript readability.
   Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and entire content of the manuscript.
   AI must not be used to create or manipulate data, research results, images, references, or scientific information in a misleading manner.
   AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author.
   Any use of AI that contributes substantively to the manuscript must be transparently disclosed.
   All AI-generated output must be reviewed and verified by the author before use.
2. Reviewers
   Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and information obtained during the peer review process.
   Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, data, or confidential information to external AI systems that do not guarantee security and confidentiality.
   AI must not replace the reviewer's scientific and professional judgment.
   Reviewers remain fully responsible for the comments, evaluations, and recommendations provided.
   The use of AI must be limited and must not compromise the independence or objectivity of the peer review process.
3. Editors
   Editors may use AI to a limited extent as an administrative or editorial aid.
   Editorial decisions must not be fully delegated to AI and must be based on human judgment.
   Editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, author data, reviewer reports, and editorial communications.
   Confidential information must not be entered into external AI systems that do not guarantee data protection.
   Editors are responsible for ensuring that the use of AI does not result in bias, conflicts of interest, or violations of publication ethics.
   Editors must ensure that the integrity and quality of the editorial process remain the responsibility of humans.
