Abstract

Independence and discipline are one of the character education values ??that need to be instilled in children, but in reality there are still many children who are not able to be independent and disciplined. And researchers want to examine parenting patterns in an effort to increase independence and discipline at PAUD NUSA Indah SKB Mojokerto. This research aims to describe and analyze parenting patterns in an effort to increase the independence and discipline of children aged 4 - 5 years, describe and analyze the supporting factors and inhibiting factors of parenting patterns in an effort to increase the independence and discipline of children aged 4 - 5 years. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that parents' parenting patterns are supported by 1). Interaction between parents and children, 2). Guiding and educating children, 3). Giving attention to children, 4). Responding and helping children overcome their problems.
