Abstract

maksimal. Pada penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk membuat karbon aktif. Penambahan aktivator HCl 5 M pada pembuatan karbon aktif ampas tebu diperoleh hasil pengujian mutu karbon aktif ampas tebu meliputi rata-rata kadar air sebesar 3,51%, kadar abu sebesar 5,73%. Hasil karakteristik kimia menggunakan FTIR menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi interaksi ditandai dengan munculnya gugus-gugus fungsional seperti –OH, C-O, C=C Alkena, dan C-H Alkana. Pengujian menggunakan SAA menunjukkan luas permukaan sebesar 455,185 m2/g, volume pori sebesar 0,354 cc/g dan rerata jari-jari pori sebesar 11,719 Å.

Abstract. This research studied to utilized the bagasse to were used as activated carbon. The addition of activator HCl 5 M on the manufacture of activated carbon bagasse were obtained the quality of activated carbon of bagasse including average water content was 3.51%, ash content equal to 5.73%. The result of chemical characterization activated carbon used spectrophotometer FTIR indicated that interaction were characterized such as –OH, C-O, C=C Alkene, and C-H Alkana. The result of characterized used SAA were surface area was 455.185 m2/g, the pore volume was 0.354 cc/g, and the pore diameter was 11.719 Å.
