PEMERINTAHAN SULTAN HAMENGKU BUWONO II DI KASULTANAN NGAYOGYAKARTA HADININGRAT TAHUN 1792-1810

Abstract

Sultanate of Yogyakarta Sultanate is a fraction of the Mataram kingdom that was founded by Prince Mangkubumi the title lane I. Sultan HB I was the father of RM.Sundoro. Semeninggal father, RM Sundoropun crowned with the title of Sultan lane II. Starting on 2 April 1792 Sultan HB II reigned Sultanate Ngayogyakarta with a variety of policies. During the reign of Sultan HB II tried to not cooperate with the occupiers. Sultan HB II realized that perpechan that has been happening in the Javanese kings and turf reduction is due to the weakness of a king due to the hegemony of the political contract between the king of Java with the invaders. To retain power, Sultan HB II military Sultanate strengthen and reinforce cultural identity with a distinctive Sultanate. It's the difference between the rule of Sultan HB I to the reign of Sultan HB II. Which in the reign of Sultan HB I concentrate on the development and structuring of the government palace. Medium Sultan HB II focuses on the field of literature and art, where during the long reign of Sultan HB II has produced many works of literature and art that can be enjoyed up to now. The end of the reign of Sultan HB II caused by the attitude of Raden Ronggo the colonial government refused a request to hand over the teak colonial government finally Raden Ronggopun by rebellious colonists. As a result of these events Sultan HB II willing to step down but stay in the palace and his throne was replaced by his son.
