PERGESERAN BUDAYA TARI ADAT JARANAN BUTO KE ARAH KONSUMSI EKONOMI PARIWISATA PADA TAHUN 1998 SAMPAI 2015 DI KECAMATAN CLURING KABUPATEN BANYUWANGI

Abstract

Banyuwagi Regency is a city famous for its various cultures. The culture in Banyuwangi is very thick with its
magical and spiritual. Some cultures that are very thick with magic are Gandrung, Seblang, and Jaranan Buto. Along
with the Banyuwangi government policy that makes Banyuwangi as a city of tourism makes local culture a tourism
destination in addition to its natural charm. This is what makes the traditional dance of Jaranan Buto art, which was
originally an art for traditional ceremonies such as cleansing the village, village gathering, and ceremonies in the month
of Surabaya now only become art that is packaged to meet the economic needs of tourism. The problems examined in this
study are: (1) How do the ritual values of the jaro buto traditional dance experience a shift in ritualism? (2) How is the
traditional dance of jaranan buto after changing and becoming an economic consumption of tourism in Banyuwangi
Regency ?. The method used by researchers is the historical research method, which has several stages, namely:
Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. Benefits of research in this study are expected to be
useful for the Banyuwangi government. Because it can help in exploring and developing the potential of traditional arts
in Banyuwangi in order to make Banyuwangi a city of cultural tourism. The results of this study explain the shift in ritual
values of the jaranan buto cultural symbols as an economic necessity caused by the tourism economic policy of the
Banyuwangi district government. Ritualist values and cultural values are not important due to the necessities of life of
the people. Jaranan Buto art is an art that was born due to the process of continuous social interaction in the local area
so as to create a local culture. The influence of the tourism economic policy in Banyuwangi on the art of the Buto jaranan
is very influential.
