Abstract

House Detention Class I Surabaya or better known as Medaeng detention center is one of the detention houses
that accommodate many prisoners in Surabaya. Rumah Detention Klas I Surabaya, known in Surabaya society as a
prisoner for children. However, it is converted to an adult prisoner, due to the lack of existing detention facilities in
Surabaya. In 1991, the 1st class house of detention began to be inhabited by adult prisoners. Koblen prison in Bubutan,
and Kalisosok Penitentiary is still functioned but can not accommodate all the prisoners in Surabaya.
