PERKEMBANGAN GKJW PEPANTHAN BALONGTUNJUNG, KECAMATAN BENJENG, KABUPATEN GRESIK TAHUN 1993 - 2002

Abstract

GKJW Pepanthan Balongtunjung is a GKJW located in Balongtunjung Hamlet, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency. The early development of the GKJW began with the entry of missionaries from Randegan group. Protestant Christianity that has entered is well accepted by the society and moreover it becomes the religion followed by most of the people in Balongtunjung hamlet. During the process of Protestant Christianity in Balongtunjung hamlet, occurred was the location movement of the church caused by farious reasons. Seeing from various backgrounds, the researcher aim to examine the early development of GKJW Pepanthan Balongtunjung and the efforts made to construct church buildings on their own land. The researcher formulates the following problems: 1. How was the initial development of GKJW Pepanthan Balongtunjung, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency before 1993? 2. How was the development of GKJW Pepanthan Balongtunjung, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency 1993-2002?. The methods used in this study include heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the research results, the locations of the church were moved several times for many reasons. One of the main factors was hat Protestant Christians did not have their own land belonging to the church. However the church was built on private land and village treasury land. Finally, there was an intention to develop a church building on their own land. Various efforts were made in terms of funding and church administration.
