REGENTSCHAPSRAAD NGANJUK: USAHA MEMPERCEPAT PEMBANGUNAN KABUPATEN NGANJUK TAHUN 1928-1942

Abstract

Regentschapsraad Nganjuk was a representative council of the Dutch East Indies at the district level, formed in 1928 but officially operated in 1929. Regentschapsraad Nganjuk in carrying out its duties and authorities aims to develop district development, especially related to socioeconomic fields. This study uses historical research methods. The data source was obtained from Burgelijke Openbare Werken Van Provincie Oost-Java archives, Province Oost Java archives, Staatsblad Van Nederlandsch-Indie, and De Indische Courant and De Locomotif newspapers. The validity of the data source obtained is then checked through internal and external criticism, then continued the interpretation process to interpret the data source and ended with the historiography stage as finalization.
The results of this study show that Regentschapsraad Nganjuk's efforts in accelerating the development of the region can be seen from several indicators, among which the first legal products containing regulations and regulatory approvals issued by Regentschapsraad Nganjuk to be the benchmark and part of the form of development plans and regional development. The second indicator can be seen from the policies that have been implemented related to the construction and maintenance of public facilities, economic sector development, and social assistance. From the legal products and policies that have been issued by Regentschapraad Nganjuk, there is a common thread where the efforts carried out are focused on the development and development of the socio-economic sector of Kabupaten Nganjuk.
