Abstract

Taman Remaja Surabaya was founded in 1971. TRS was the most popular place in the 1990s, this is evidenced by the large number of visitors visiting Taman Remaja and it has a good impact on the economy of the surrounding community. This playground experienced a period of decline when entering 2018 which resulted in a decline in the economy of the surrounding community. The formulation of the problem discussed in this study is how the development of Surabaya Youth Park in 1999-2018 and how the impact of the existence of Surabaya Youth Park on the economy of the surrounding community. Writing in this study uses the historical method, namely the heuristic stage (primary and secondary data collection), then the source criticism stage (the data selection process to find an accountable historical fact), Then the interpretation stage is interpreting the meaning of the document in order to create a fact, the last stage is historiography (writing historical facts). This study aims to describe how the development of Taman Remaja Surabaya was in 1999-2018 and to analyze how the impact of the sellers around the Surabaya youth park. Based on the writing of this study, a conclusion can be drawn, namely: the first is, Surabaya Youth Park was built in 1971 due to several factors. Taman Remaja experienced a golden age in the 1990s to early 2000s, this also had a good impact on the economy of the surrounding community. The end of the golden age of the Surabaya Youth Park, which was entering 2018 and the economy of the surrounding community decreased drastically.
