KEHIDUPAN SOSIAL EKONOMI KAWASAN KOTA LAMA SEMARANG TAHUN 2003-2018

Abstract

This study examines the socio-economic life in the Kota Lama Semarang area in 2003-2018. This research was conducted to identify and describe the socio-economic life in the Kota Lama Area. This research is a qualitative description using historical research methods. The research process is carried out by collecting relevant data, conducting source criticism to test the truth of a source, interpreting by linking existing data, then carrying out a historiography process to describe it in the form of a description.. The results showed that revitalization brought changes to the social and economic conditions of the people of the Kota Lama Semarang area. Changes in social aspects can be seen from the existence of social inequalities and the existence of other changes in social problems such as floods, crime problems, prostitution, and homelessness which have been handled by the government so that they are getting better. While the economic aspect seen from the livelihoods of the community has experienced a slight change from industrial workers to craftsmen, traders who usually hawk their wares on the roadside have secured a place inside historical buildings, opening new jobs such as tour guides and vehicle rental to get around the City Area. It was quite long enough to improve the economic life of the surrounding community, and from the point of view of traders' income, it was known more before the Kota Lama Area was revitalized.
