ANALISIS ASPEK MISTIS DALAM SENI WAYANG MBAH GANDRUNG DI KEDIRI JAWA TIMUR TAHUN 1995-2005

Abstract

The art of puppet has been fully embedded in the Javanese chronicle for centurie with all the characteristic and functions of each wayang. In particular, Kediri districthas a wayang art named Mbah Gandrung, the only wayang in Kediri. Adding its own charm by having the art of wayang Mbah Gandrung whinch is already very widely known among the public. This study aims to determine the reasons for public trust in the art of wayang Mbah Gandrung in Pagung village, Semen Kediri District in 1995-2005.
This research raises a problem formulation (1) what is the background of the mystical belief of the community towards the art of wayang Mbah Gandrung in Pagung Kediri village in 1995-2005? (2) what is the form of the mystical belief of the people of Pagung village in the wayang Mbah Gandrung art in Pagung Kediri village in 199-2005?. To answer the problem formulation above, the method used in this research in the historical research metof which consists of four stages including, (1) heuristics, (2) source criticism, (3) interpretation, and (4) historiography.
Based on research results field tests and information from various sources, the art of wayang Mbah Gandrung has existed since 1475, the origin of the discovery of sandalwood drifting in the river during a flood this is to answer the problem formulation briefly. Researchers spanning 1995 the art of wayang Mbah Gandrung was perfomed when people had sacred vows. The development of the era is increasingly dynamic, the wayang Mbah Gandrung still exists in the Pagung community with various beliefs to mystical things. The art of wayang Mbah Gandrung is very influential for the surrounding community, there are various assumptions about wayang Mbah Gandrung. It has an important impact, especially in terms of the socio-cultural spiritual life of the surrounding community.
