KETERKAITAN KEARIFAN BUDAYA DAN PRAKTIK EKONOMI: STUDI SEJARAH KEARIFAN BUDAYA ETNIS TIONGHOA TUBAN DI TENGAH PP NOMOR 10 TAHUN 1959

Abstract

There are many ethnic Chinese in all cities in Indonesia, there is no education in Tuban. Its location on the northern coast of the coast of Java even became the starting point for their arrival. The arrival of ethnic Chinese from their homeland brought an economic mission, namely trade. Many regions have helped their economy with the arrival of ethnic Chinese in the archipelago. Over time, many of the local people were unable to compete with the ethnic Chinese, including those in Tuban Regency. So that the government at that time issued PP Number 10 of 1959 concerning the Prohibition of Foreign Small and Retail Traders. However, the Presidential Regulation was not successful, because the local community was unable to assess the workings of the ethnic Chinese. Therefore, the discussion attracted the attention of researchers. So that we get a problem about what are the cultural factors owned by the wealth management of the ethnic Chinese that need to be reflected for the economic progress of Tuban? Then the researchers also tried to find out the impact of PP No. 10 of 1959 on the Chinese ethnicity in Tuban at that time. From the problems obtained, it will be investigated using historical research methods and is divided into four stages, namely heuristics (Source Collection), criticism (verification), interpretation (interpretation), and historiography (historical writing). The results obtained during the research show that ethnic Chinese who have lived in Tuban for a long time have a tenacious culture and high work ethic. culture is the driving force for the success of economic domination from the past until now. Then the impact of PP No. 10 of 1959 caused the community's economy to stagnate. This is because there is no substitute for the role played by ethnic Chinese so far to become a distributor of necessities.
