PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR HISTORIS KELAS XI IPS SMA NEGERI 8 SURABAYA

Abstract

This study aims to prove the effect of the problem based learning model on the historical thinking ability of XI IPS students at SMAN 8 Surabaya. This research is a type of quantitative research using a pre-experimental design method with a one shoot case study model. The study population was from class XI IPS SMAN 8 Surabaya with a sampling technique using the type of probability sampling model proportionate random sampling with a total of 50 student samples. The data collection technique used an observation sheet on the implementation of the problem based learning model, a questionnaire sheet on student responses to learning, and a written test of historical thinking skills. History learning with the problem based learning model that is applied gets results in the Good category with the results obtained based on the student response questionnaires getting a percentage of 76.6% and the results of observing the implementation of learning get a percentage of 90%. The results of the assessment of students' historical thinking skills obtained a percentage of 80.96% which was included in the Good criteria. Data analysis was carried out by performing the Shapiro-Wilk normality test with the results showing that the data was normally distributed, and for the one sample t-test test results obtained a significance value (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.005. The results of the two-party hypothesis test by looking at the magnitude of the Tcount value, namely by comparing the Tcount 5,350 > Ttable 2,010. These results indicate that there is an influence between the two variables so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. So the conclusion is that there is a positive effect of the problem based learning model on the students' historical thinking skills.
