PERKEMBANGAN MUSEUM KAMBANG PUTIH SEBAGAI SARANA EDUKASI DAN PARIWISATA DI KOTA TUBAN TAHUN 2012-2020

Abstract

Kambang Putih Museum is one of the educational attractions located in Tuban City, East Java. This museum was moved from the Krido Manunggal Pendopo complex to the center of Tuban city, precisely next to the pilgrimage tour of the Tomb of Sunan Bonang. The previous location was considered less strategic so that the museum did not have many visitors. As time passed after the transfer, the condition of the Kambang Putih Museum was abandoned due to the lack of management and activities such as education and recreation in it. Based on the formulation of existing problems, this research aims to (1) Know the background of the establishment of the Kambang Putih Tuban Museum, (2) Know the development of the Kambang Putih Tuban Museum in 2012-2020, and (3) Know the impact of the development of the Kambang Putih Tuban Museum in the field of education and tourism in Tuban. This research uses a historical method, with four stages, namely the collection of sources obtained from books, museum administrative data, interviews, and scientific journals, followed by criticism to select sources with the aim of obtaining valid sources, interpretation or interpretation to analyze sources, and historiography that presents results in written form.The results showed that the development of the Kambang Putih Museum as a means of education and tourism was inseparable from the role of museum managers. After the change of Head of the Museum in 2012, the Kambang Putih Museum has made progress in its management. Efforts to improve the museum were marked by a major renovation of the museum's physical building and changes to the organizational structure within the museum. The renovation of the museum was carried out to improve the quality and comfort of museum visitors. Kambang Putih Museum developed rapidly in 2015, marked by the many achievements obtained and the increasing number of museum visitors from local and foreign countries. The development of the Kambang Putih Museum certainly has an impact on the community and the musem itself in the fields of education, tourism, social, and economy. In addition, the development of the kambang putih museum can also be an example for regional museums to improve their quality.
