Perkembangan Orkes Patriotik Drum Band di Indonesia Pada Tahun 1977-1983

Abstract

Musical ensembles or playing music together such as drum bands have great appeal. The drum band has
many members with compositions of wind, pit, and percussion sections. Historically, the drum band is a musical group
that has existed since World War II. The drum band originated from the Military Band which later developed in
Indonesia and is referred to as a drum band. The occurrence of acculturation made the drum band easily accepted by
the community and developed very rapidly. Drum band is one of the organizations and music groups that have an
impact on society. The drum band also plays a role in shaping the character of patiotism in society. The drum band
also made achievements for Indonesia on the world stage. This study aims to (1) determine the beginning of the
emergence of the patriotic drum band orchestra in Indonesia in 1977; (2) knowing the background of the growth of the
patriotic drum band orchestra in Indonesia in 1977-1983; (3) knowing the impact of the progress of the patriotic drum
band orchestra in Indonesia in 1977-1983.
This research was conducted using a historical research method, namely Heuristics by collecting sources
obtained from the National Library of Indonesia, and other book sources. The next stage is source criticism, in this
case the author checks the authenticity of the sources obtained. The third stage is interpretation, the writer analyzes
and arranges a series of events systematically and focuses on the research topic. The fourth stage, namely
Historiography, the author conducts research preparation from beginning to end in a coherent manner to produce a
comprehensive research on the Development of the Patriotic Drum Band Orchestra in Indonesia in 1977-1983.
The results of this study are about the development of the Patriotic Drum Band Orchestra in Indonesia in1977-1983 which discusses the beginning of the emergence of drum bands in Indonesia until they began to develop and
gave birth to the parent organization of the Indonesian Drum Band Association which houses many drum band units.
This study also discusses the impact of the progress of patiotic drum band orchestra to the birth of national and
international competitions in Indonesia.
