TRANSFORMASI KERETA API DI WILAYAH DAOP 8 SURABAYA PADA TAHUN 2009-2020

Abstract

This research entitled Railway Transformation in the Daop 8 Surabaya Region in 2009-2020" contains the journey of the transformation of special trains in the Daop 8 Surabaya area in 2009-2020 which has affected changes in rail management and social, cultural and economic train passengers. The purpose of this research was to partially fulfill the requirements for obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree in the History Education S1 study program, State University of Surabaya.
The method used in this research is historical research method. The steps taken in the historical method are heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography.
The results of this study indicate that the transformation of the train is carried out in order to improve the quality of service and safety for train passengers. The transformation began in 2009 when Ignasius Jonan began serving as the main director of PT KAI. KAI's transformation forces social, cultural and economic changes to train passengers in Daop 8 Surabaya. With the implementation of this new policy, train passengers are more orderly and make transportation easier by train.
